How we collect, use, and protect your personal data

Last updated: February 2026

1. Who We Are

Eventscope is an online networking platform for events, operated by New Era Digital Consultants Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.

For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the data controller for the personal data we process through the Eventscope platform.

2. What Data We Collect

Data provided by event organisers

Event organisers supply us with attendee information to set up networking for their events. This typically includes:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Company or organisation name
  • Job title

Data collected when you use the platform

When you use Eventscope, we may also collect:

  • Login activity (timestamps, magic link usage)
  • Messages sent to other attendees via the platform
  • Browser type, device information, and IP address
  • Pages visited and features used within the platform

Data we do not collect

We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as health information, political opinions, or biometric data). We do not require passwords — authentication is handled via secure email-based magic links or PIN codes.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Providing the service: Enabling you to log in, browse attendee lists, and send messages to other event participants.
  • Event administration: Setting up and managing networking platforms on behalf of event organisers.
  • Platform communications: Sending you login links and event-related notifications.
  • Service improvement: Analysing usage patterns to improve the platform's performance and features.
  • Technical support: Resolving issues you report to us.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interests: Providing networking services to event attendees and organisers, and improving our platform. We have assessed that these interests do not override your rights and freedoms.
  • Contract performance: Where an event organiser has contracted us to provide networking services for their event and you are an attendee of that event.
  • Consent: Where you have given us specific consent, for example to receive optional communications.

5. How We Protect Your Privacy

Privacy is central to how Eventscope works:

  • Your email address is never revealed to other attendees. Messages are sent through the platform without exposing contact details.
  • Attendees can only see the name, company, and job title of other participants — not their email addresses.
  • You choose when and whether to share your direct contact information with other attendees.

6. Who We Share Your Data With

We may share your personal data with:

  • Event organisers: The organiser of the event you are attending has access to attendee information they provided to us, as well as basic usage data for their event.
  • Other attendees: Your name, company, and job title are visible to other attendees of the same event. Your email address is not shared.
  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party providers for hosting, email delivery, and platform infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.

7. Data Retention

  • Event data: We retain attendee data and messages for up to 12 months after an event concludes, unless the event organiser requests earlier deletion.
  • Account data: If you use the platform across multiple events, we retain your basic profile information to simplify future logins.
  • Technical logs: Server and access logs are retained for up to 12 months for security and troubleshooting purposes.

Event organisers may request deletion of all data associated with their event at any time.

8. International Transfers

Our servers are located in the United Kingdom. If any data processing takes place outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK data protection law.

9. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure of your data (in certain circumstances)
  • Restriction of processing
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@eventscope.co.uk.

We will respond to your request within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. Children

Eventscope is designed for professional event networking and is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users.
