About Us
The company was founded in 2003 to address a serious challenge within the events and conference sector: The distribution of contact lists.
By default, most conference organisers traditionally refuse to give their contact lists to delegates, sponsors or any other party, citing commercial imperative. Whilst this was an acceptable policy five years ago, in today’s hyper-connected world, not offering the contact lists to paying delegates can be seen as backward — and, in some cases, may put off delegates from attending in the first place.
The Solution
We recognised that conference organisers wanted the ability to offer their delegate lists in ‘read only’ format, offering the ability delegates the ability to contact other delegates, but without allowing people to cut and paste the entire contact list. The solution was Eventscope Online Networking — a private, branded, secure and dedicated system deployed for each event. Like an ultra mini, exclusive Facebook for each event.
Our Service
We further recognised that organisers wanted a ‘fire-and-forget’ system that required absolutely no hardware, software or technical setup whatsoever.
We also understood that organisers are busy people, so we deployed a service infrastructure to enable us to respond to every customer enquiry within 24-hours guaranteed. In practice we’re able to offer same-hour response for most requests. So when you suddenly find 3 more people you’d like added to a particular event, you just email us. We do the rest.
It’s not a meetings system
Many event organisers contact us asking if we can supply a ‘meetings system’ to help their delegates arrange meetings with each other at their upcoming event. It’s a brilliant concept, but unless you’re willing to deploy 10 staff on-site for every 100 delegates to manage the process, it almost never, ever works. Eventscope enables delegates to contact each other and arrange their own meetings. Having connected around 300,000 delegates through Eventscope in 2009, we know that this way is 100% guaranteed to work. It is, after all, the delegate’s own responsibility to arrange and turn up to their own meetings. The failure point is not the technology, it’s the delegates who have arranged meetings and end up getting very, very frustrated (at you, the conference organiser) on the show floor when the other party doesn’t turn up.
Our History
The company was founded in 2003 and has been used by thousands of events. Our largest client is the Informa Group of companies. Many of their divisions use Eventscope for every single one of their events. We work with many independent and one-off events as well as some of the larger companies in the space. Although we’re based in Marlow, United Kingdom, we work internationally.
We’ve evolved Eventscope to it’s third major iteration over the seven years we’ve been operating. Our systems and procedures are tried, tested, scalable, proven and entirely reliable.
Our Ethos
We’re a small group of committed people, utterly focused around the provision of superb service. We work 9am-5pm every business day and routinely work round-the-clock to support our client operations internationally. We are friendly, confident and professional and eager to help.
